Getting the roof down is a nice easy job, and the car packs it away neatly in approximately 20 seconds. It can also be pitched while doing speeds of up to 31mph. 

Running costs are where it shines, as BMW’s engines offer impressive mpg. For the sportier petrol, you could see about 35-45mpg. However, while the diesel is noisier, it might be worth it when you get between 50 and 60mpg.

Test drive the vehicle first to check for rattles or strange noises under the bonnet. The exhaust may also tell a story if there’s evidence of black or blue smoke residue. Always go through the service and repair history to ensure you’re happy it matches what you’re viewing. 

On the exterior, look out for corrosion or signs of damage – don’t forget to examine underneath too. Diesel models sometimes have issues with DPF filters getting blocked. This happens when the car has not driven many miles or takes shorter trips. So, check the mileage and whether the filter has been changed.
