New Ford Transit Courier - Safety & Security
The New Transit Courier incorporates a range of smart technologies such as Electronic Stability Control and Traction Control to help improve your stability in challenging driving conditions along with Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems that can alert you when it detects that your tyres have lost pressure. Combined, they help to protect you, your vehicle, and other road users.
Enhanced stability in difficult driving conditions
Constant monitoring of your vehicle’s behaviour is carried out by advanced sensors from the anti-lock braking and Traction Control System. Electronic Stability Control can sense when it’s losing grip and automatically applies a braking pulse to individual wheels, helping to stabilise it.
Maximum grip with minimum effort
Eliminating excessive wheelspin and giving you the best possible grip, performance and stability, exactly when you need it most, the advanced Traction Control System constantly monitors and adjusts the power delivered to the vehicle’s individual wheels to ensure maximum contact and grip when you’re accelerating.
An early warning if a tyre is going flat
The Tyre Pressure Monitoring System warns you immediately whilst you're driving if there’s a puncture or if your tyres start to lose pressure, by lighting up an icon on the instrument panel.
Advanced systems for more controlled braking
Combined to ensure that your braking is effective, the Anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake-force distribution together with Emergency Brake Assist will help your vehicle achieve maximum braking effectiveness in an emergency situation. It’s controlled automatically via the Electronic Stability Control system, which senses how much pressure you’ve applied to the brake yourself and if necessary will automatically increase it. In addition, in the event of heavy braking, the emergency brake light system flashes the brake lights to warn other drivers.
Continuous protection against rolling over
When driving under conditions where there’s a high centre of gravity or when driving through off-camber turns, Ford’s unique roll-rate sensor helps the Roll Stability Control system to keep the tyres grounded.
Enhanced Airbag System
Feel safe and secure in the New Transit Courier. Available with driver, passenger and side airbags along with an improved activation system.
Remote Control Central Locking
Secure more than ever, the New Transit Courier has remote control central door locking, which allows you to open the front passenger doors while the cargo area stays locked, until you activate the remote button again.
Two high level alarm options
An optional perimeter alarm system, which activates if the doors or bonnet are opened by force is now available on the new Transit Courier. In addition, a more sophisticated Thatcham Category 1 alarm system is also available which automatically arms itself when the vehicle is locked and a powerful alarm sounds if triggered by forced entry, the vehicle being lifted, or if the motion sensors pick up any movement from inside.
An extra, independent back-up alarm
A battery back-up sounder is an additional, secondary alarm system that comes with the Thatcham alarm option. With its own built-in power source, it sounds a siren when the alarm is triggered and will activate even if someone disconnects the main vehicle battery.
