LEGO Camper Van
The largest ever camper van to be made from LEGO® bricks has gone on show at the f.re.e leisure and travel fair in Munich, Germany.
The T2 Bulli model was built using 400,000 bricks by certified LEGO® builder Rene Hoffmeister and his colleague Pascal Lenhard. The pair had just six weeks to construct the record-breaking Bulli, which had numerous little details in it to accurately reflect the original model that first went on sale in 1967.
The LEGO® T2 Bulli includes the Westfalia pop-up roof – a popular function on campers – the sliding door, which was technically very challenging to create, and the interior fittings. The model measures more than five metres long, 1.9 metres wide and is close to two metres tall (or three metres with the roof popped up).
