Frequently Asked Questions

  • + Does the New Ranger retain the 1,000kg payload?

Yes. With the exception of Raptor, all series have above 1,000kg payload.

  • + What about the 1045kg required to fit a Canopy?

Yes, all series (except Raptor) have 1045kg to fit a Canopy. Even though some Limited and Wildtrak show under 1045kg on the weights chart, the 1045kg is achieved when the Sport Hoop/Bar and side rails are removed to fir the Canopy. A Roll Cover is not affected by the 1045kg rule.

  • + I can’t find the Weights and Loads chart in the Brochure. Where is it?

To save cost and environmental impact, printed brochures are being reduced in size by moving the spec table to the eBrochure versions only. All table can be found on the eBrochure at...

  • + Is the Ranger classed as a Commercial Vehicle for Speed limits?

Yes, as it is registered as a CV, all Ranger are subject to CV speed limits.

  • + Why is the Load Box Bedliner now optional for Limited and Wildtrak?

To achieve the desired 1,000kg payload (1045kg for Canopy fitment), the Load Box Bedliner had to be made optional to offset the standardised safety and driver assistance features. Investigation is on-going to standardise again. Spray in bed liner is a similar weight and also optional.

  • + Is the tow ball height adjustable?

No. It is a fixed height on factory fit options.

  • + Is the Raptor just a body kit or a walk up from Wildtrak?

No, the Raptor has been uniquely engineered as a Ford Performance Off-Road Racer. No other Manufacturer in Europe has a Pick-Up engineered in this way and the Raptor is a unique proposition. From the reinforced chassis, Fox Performance suspension and BF Goodrich Tyres to the specially developed driving modes (including “Baja” mode), the Raptor is a unique vehicle designed for Off-road performance.

  • + Can you claim VAT back on a Raptor?

No. Due to the payload under 1000kg, the VAT cannot be claimed back on a Raptor. The Benefit in Kind (BiK) is also at the higher rate.

  • + What about VED?

Raptor is homologated as a Commercial Vehicle and therefore registered as a commercial vehicle and subject to the CV VED band (currently £260 and £55 first registration fee)
