The Motability Scheme has been around since 1978, keeping millions of people on the roads ever since. The scheme works by allowing you to exchange your mobility benefits for a brand-new ŠKODA on a three-year lease. It’s such a simple yet helpful scheme, ensuring that everyone has the freedom to get back out on the road.

The Motability Scheme isn’t just exclusive to the driver. Guardians or carers of claimants of those under the age of 16 can qualify on their behalf. Visit the Motability Scheme website to learn more about eligibility.
From simple driving controls to person hoists for lifting wheelchair users, there are hundreds of adaptations available on the Motability Scheme. All adaptations are designed to help you drive, get in or out of the car, or stow your wheelchair or scooter, so your motoring experience is more comfortable.
The best way to arrange for your adaptations to be made is to take care of it when you order your vehicle – it’s both simpler and more cost-effective. This way, your ŠKODA will be delivered with the adaptations already fitted. Some adaptations even come at no extra cost.
At Beadles ŠKODA, we can help you establish what you find difficult with your current vehicle. Whether it’s accessibility or driving controls, our Motability can find a solution to suit your motoring needs. Some issues can be solved just by choosing the right model, such as automatic transmission for example. Our friendly team can work with you to find a vehicle that meets your needs.
Adaptations are designed to make motoring easier and more comfortable. However, not all adaptations are suitable for every type of vehicle, either due to the compatibility of the car or the adaptation. It is important that you consider what adaptations you need before you choose your ŠKODA.
Here are some adaptations that could improve your motoring experience:
Adaptations to consider
|Limited mobility or control in your legs||Mechanical hand controls, electronic accelerators, steering aids and pedal guards|
|Limited mobility in your right hand||Mechanical hand controls or left foot accelerators|
|Limited strength in your upper body||Steering aids, remote control devices, easy release handbrakes and electronic accelerators|
|Wheelchair or scooter is too heavy to lift or stow||Car boot or rooftop hoists|
|Difficulty transferring from wheelchair to the car||Swivel seats, person hoists or tip-up plates|
