I purchased a BMW X3 from Group 1 BMW Norwich in January 2026, and unfortunately the aftercare experience has been well below the standard expected from a BMW main dealer. Shortly after purchase, I identified a humming/howling noise when driving at motorway speeds (60–70 mph). This was reported to the dealership, and the car was taken back for inspection. I was later informed the issue had been resolved after replacing a tyre. However, when the car was returned, the issue was still present. To validate this, I took the vehicle to another BMW main dealer (Stratstone BMW), where the technician confirmed the noise and documented it in a vehicle health check report. This directly contradicts Group 1’s assessment that no fault exists. In addition, the report highlighted further concerns, including uneven tyre tread, a fault with a ride height sensor bracket, and other advisory items — which raises questions about the quality of the pre-sale checks. The most frustrating part of this experience has been the lack of aftercare. Despite multiple emails and follow-ups, Group 1 BMW Norwich have now stopped responding entirely. I have also requested basic documentation (invoices for work carried out and technical explanations), which have not been provided. As a customer who has made a significant financial investment, this has been a very stressful and time-consuming experience. I am still dealing with unresolved issues months after purchase. I want to be fair — the initial sales process was smooth, and the sales representative was helpful. However, once the car was handed over, the level of support dropped significantly. I would strongly advise potential buyers to consider not just the purchase experience, but the aftercare support they may receive if something goes wrong. I am currently escalating this matter with BMW UK in the hope of reaching a proper resolution.
