Initial communication was excellent to book me an appointment.
After that the communication became misguided. My car drop off appointment was 9:30 on the Friday , I was informed that after inspection assessment that I would be contacted to be informed if the car needed to stay for the recall repair. I had to phone numerous occasions for this information. This was most inconvenient as I waiting in the city for this call and I quote 'incase the car was ready to drive home by not requiring the repair after inspection'
I was informed I would receive a call at 12pm. No call, 12:30 no call... I made contact and was told my car hasn't even moved from the customer parking slot I parked in at 9:30am. As you can imagine, so frustrating after waiting around all morning!!
The car then stayed with G1 chester over the weekend and into Monday and Tuesday. I collected it late Tuesday but yet again I had to continually call to receive updates. Each time I finally got through it felt like my call was promoting the staff to get my car sorted as each time the response was something along the lines of 'your vehicle is just going in to the workshop now'
I received this update twice in the same day. How can it be going in to the workshop twice in the same day?
my car is required for work and we have a young family of three children under 3 years of age.
I was offered no alternative transport knowing I would be without a car for a number of days. I had to use public transport as my wife needed our other car for the children.
Very inconvenient due to poor communication.
From initial communication it sounded like my car would be inspected and repaired the same day.
There were no parts for the repair and had to be ordered , therefore I was without a car for 5 days!
A huge organisation calls for a recall, likely to involve repair, but don't have the parts on site to undertake the repair. Makes no sense to me.
Whilst I'm appreciative of a recall for such an old car, I'm really disappointed in the service which wasted my time hanging around on Friday for the car or any kind of update which I continually had to chase despite being promised to be contacted and the resulting issue being without a car for so long and again a lack of updates and having to chase all the time
