Google - Group 1 Reading MINI

A few weeks ago, I called to request a paint touch-up pen, as I wanted to remove some marks from my car. When my call was transferred to the repairs department, nobody answered and the phone kept disconnecting. I called again and asked if they could please order the paint pen online so I would only need to collect it once it arrived. However, the calls continued to be disconnected. In the end, I had to drive 30 minutes to request the pen in person, and then return again the following day to collect it. Overall, I wasted around two hours. Today, I called again because I needed an important document. After eight phone calls, during which I was repeatedly told “we don’t know” or “we’ll transfer you to the right person,” the calls kept getting disconnected and none of my questions were resolved. Eventually, I gave up. Customer service is extremely poor and very disappointing when it comes to handling any type of request or paperwork. They seem interested only in selling cars, and once the vehicle has been paid for, they no longer want to help.

I went to the reading group 1 mini dealership and first off I must say it was impressive. The choice of stock was very good ,but most of all I dealt with Kriste in the sales who I can only rate as 10 out of 10. Being an older buyer I was amazed at her knowledge of the car and was promptly shown the various things I needed on my car. Kriste was a very good sales person in that she did not apply pressure but demonstrated all the other services I could have via various insurances without labouring on it too much. She is a delightful young lady and a definate asset to the sales team,nothing is too much trouble for her and her follow up is exemplary I have no qualms about recommending Group1 mini to anyone who wants to buy either a used or new mini. Google - Group 1 Reading MINI

I'm afraid to say that I've had a very negative experience with the service centre. My mini had a drivetrain error (after clutch repair works away from home), and I thought I'd go for the specialist Reading service centre to diagnose the issue and hopefully come up with an easy fix. They performed a software reset at a pretty high cost, which didn't fix the issue and the error message came back shortly afterwards. I phoned them back to tell them that the reset hadn't worked, but they didn't offer to have another look (the overall attitude was that they were too 'busy'). I then asked for a copy of the diagnostic report that I could take elsewhere, but no-one ever got back to me, despite repeated calls and even escalating with the complaints department (whose response has also been non-existent after waiting over two weeks). I ended up having to take the car elsewhere and the issue was fixed by another garage with a simple change of spark plugs (they also diagnosed it quickly)! As a regular customer, I've never experienced such a bad service from Reading service centre, and it's pretty shocking coming from an official mini dealership. P.S. for completeness, following the response below, the Reading mini office did eventually call me back and apologise / issue a refund.

Google - Group 1 Reading MINI

Awful service. Never returned phone calls. Made promises about replacing one tyre on my mini that they never kept. Had the car for 4 days and nothing happened to it. I ended up having to pay a mobile tyre company to fix the tyre in the car park at mini! I wouldn’t recommend their customer service or their ability to carry out the simplest of tasks!
