Survey - Group 1 Land Rover Chester
My initial call on a Saturday morning was picked up by Georgia Lloyd. We discussed the vehicle in which I was interested, at the end of which, I decided to set off on the 200mile journey to view it that day. Georgia reassured me that it would be "reserved" for me pending my arrival. The viewing and test drive went well and I decided I wanted to buy it. Paperwork, formalities, accessories and deposits were completed. Collection was arranged for the following Friday. Throughout the process Georgia was professional, knowledgeable, accommodating and extremely pleasant. The handover was delightful with some really nice touches that made it an event. Interaction with other supporting sales team members, namely Pablo Evans and the Sales Manager, whose name escapes me, were equally pleasant. Thank you to one and all. I am thoroughly looking forward to owning and driving my Land Rover Approved Defender.

I have never in my life so regreted spending my money where I am least regarded as a customer who deserves some level of attention. I warn you, don't spend a penny here or you regret it afterwards. I took my car for a service at this company because I expected the best from them, even though I could have done the same service elsewhere for less than a half or half of their price. When I collected my car, my remote was in pieces and I complained via email, phone calls, but nobody actually cares despite complaining to different staff members. Also, following the healthchek, I asked them to work with my warranty to sort the issue that were discovered. This also dragged on endlessly with my contact person needing chase up here and there. Tired of this hopelessness, and fear the car might soon collapse, I had to get rid of it. As if that was not enough, I decided to clear up my bumper with them 4 months earlier than agreed. The debt is still there after several days and I had to ring them with the aim of asking why there was no letter or email to, at least acknowledge receipt of the payment. They horridly ended my call with a promise that someone would ring me back after taking my into. But as usual, they have closed without anyone being in touch. They appear very professional and organised but I have learnt the true definition of "all that glitters is not gold. So. don't fall for their outlook as their service and communication is the poorest out there.

Land Rover Chester Service Team, I have been a loyal customer of Land Rover for over ten years, during which time I have owned two Range Rovers and lease the current one, I have used your service department only a handful of times there is a reason for this!!! Unfortunately, every service visit has been marred by significant issues, turning what should be a straightforward and premium experience into a stressful and frustrating process for a vehicle of such prestige. My most recent experience has been the most disappointing to date. My vehicle was booked in for a known coolant/water leak issue on 13/3/26, which had already been diagnosed by my husband, who owns his own mechanical workshop. The car was retained for one month and three days. During this entire period, I was not offered a courtesy car at any point. While the vehicle was with you, an additional issue was identified, for which you were awaiting a replacement part. We were assured that the original coolant leak would also be addressed and resolved. However, after one month, my patience understandably began to wear thin, so I contacted the service department for an update. The initial phone interaction was unprofessional, and it subsequently took three further days of chasing before I received a return call from Rebecca with any meaningful update. The vehicle was eventually returned after one month and three days, only for the coolant level warning light to reappear almost immediately. The water leak had not been fixed, despite repeated assurances. This level of service falls far short of the standards expected from a premium brand like Land Rover. It is particularly concerning given the well-publicised reports of Range Rovers experiencing fires on the roadside, which makes unresolved coolant issues even more alarming. After more than a decade of loyalty and three Range Rovers, I am now seriously considering switching to a different manufacturer. I would appreciate a full investigation into this matter, along with a detailed explanation as to why the coolant leak was not rectified despite clear diagnosis and assurances, this puts cars & drivers at risk!!! I expected to be contacted promptly after emailing the service department by a senior member of the management team to discuss this matter surprisingly I’m still waiting…….. still have a vehicle on my drive with a coolant/water leak! That I won’t drive as I don’t want to be on the side of a road with a broken vehicle or worse still a vehicle on fire! Katy & Wayne Williams Range Rover evoque - W30 KTY

Cannot stress enough how awful this garage is, stay away at all cost!!! * We had Endless faults. * Terrible customer service. * Found every opportunity to take more money from us. * Car was put back up for sale before buy back payment even made to us. Full events below: We bought a Range Rover Evoque from Group 1 Land Rover, Chester from the day we purchased it was faulty, broken air conditioning with a 5 month old baby in the height of summer, which they took 5 weeks to repair. November 2025, both Nox sensor went and the car went back for repair. Just 6 hours later the car failed to start I was left stranded with my baby at night. JLR assistance engineer attended and would not recover the vehicle to Landrover for analysis as no fault code showing but no explanation as to what happened, dispite showing multiple videos and pictures as evidence that the car was broke not even 12 hours before. January 2026, while driving the car the power steering cut out and very nearly caused us to crash. Due to these multiple issues, we requested a buy back and received a significant reduced figure dispite us only having the car 9 months. Before we were even paid out the car was already back up for sale and for more than we initially paid.
