Hello, we brought a landrover Discovery, at first they prepared the wrong car and sent a video of the wrong car, we contacted them and this was resolved, then they said the car was ready on the Tuesday and had its inspection done, when I was contacted I said it’s not ready as the mot had not been done , I was assured it was done and the dvla website would up date over night, it didn’t and the mot was carried out the next day and was told I can collect on the Friday but I had a call from them on the Thursday saying I can not pick it up as my car which I was trading in had a private plate on and that would need to come off first and get the log book back before transfer, i was told beforehand I could do it on the day, I even asked this question from the very start as I would be going on holiday the week after, so I said we have to change when I come back which would be the following Saturday to which they agreed, I went on holiday paid a deposit beforehand, then was told if we are collecting Saturday we have to pay for the car upfront as they can not check payment at a weekend, I had to double check with the bank and with them to make sure the money was going to the correct place as I had not seen the car in person or even had a test drive, anyway I sent a few emails and as normal some was replied and others ignored, was a bit of a job now as I had just handed all over the money was like I didn’t exist for a while. I make arrangements to collect the car at 9.00 am Saturday, I had a walk around the car after signing my px over to them and paying for the landrover in control and the tracker, the sales person said all the last persons details was on there so had to take that off first then start ours, we believed this was all set up by them but he said he’s not supposed to do this on used cars only new ones, we didn’t have a clue what we was doing, but assured us it was all set up when we went to look at the car, I asked how does the flap come down for access to the rear of the car , the salesman didn’t know, but lucky I did as I see a YouTube video,then I asked about what the levers do on the second row of seats but he didn’t know either, well we are all on our way home now, but thought we wasn’t given the 165 point check list, or any mot paperwork, when we arrived home we locked the car but the app was saying the car was in sleep mode and couldn’t do anything, so now knowing we couldn’t see a tracker we went out to buy a steering lock, not a expensive one as we thought it start working, by Sunday and after a restless night it was still not working , so emailed them again but again no reply, so we blocked the car in and left it there until Monday. On Monday Suzanne phoned the landrover in app control and managed to get it up and running after 2 hours back and fourth, I e mailed the branch again and left messages then I get a call,I explained about how the car was not protected and no tracker all weekend and our insurance insist of having tracker, makes me wonder what would of happened if we lost the car, we still not happy now about it, I then told them about a annoying noise at the back of the car on our 100 mile return and I found the number plate surround was adrift marking the paint work in the process, I was told some one would phone me Tuesday to tell me what to do as it was a Easy fix , and that would take them along time to collect and return the car and as my son was a technician he could do it so I sent photos as well and a little video, but again I had no phone call back so had to phone again on the Wednesday, to get the issue resolved about the number plate surround, I am not happy at all with the service I got here and the unrest I had all weekend and unable to go out.

From test drive to spec, to order, to contracts, to collection, the experience of buying our new Discovery has been flawless.

The whole process, from initial visit through test drive to order and collection, has been smooth and enjoyable. Gavin Moody has held our hand in the best possible way throughout.

Rosie savage was outstanding, her attention to detail, knowledge of the vehicles and extremely pleasant nature made the whole experience pleasurable.

Following a Factory recall 3 days before I took delivery, despite the vehicle being brand new caused a delay of 2 wks getting my new vehicle. Group 1 handled the delay as best they could under difficult circumstances. 👍

Very impressed with Russell Bannister and the support he provided throughout the purchase process he was very informative and kept me updated with build delays and progress. A full demonstration was provided on the vehicle on collection and a surprise with a bunch of flowers for my wife which was very much appreciated. Thank you Russell and Team in Guildford.
Just a shame I had to come to Guildford to purchase a new vehicle when my local main dealer is Brighton and wasn't really fused in securing business but I'm glad I did I was very well accommodated and extremely please with my purchase. Thank you all
