Car was booked in for a auxillary battery health check, after car alarm had gone off whilst on driveway at home. I had check the battery condition myself using a multi-meter, which was reading 11.9v therefore I suspected the battery was near the end of it's life. I took the car in at 8:30 am, and later that day the dealer requested to keep the car overnight on test to be absolutely sure on battery condition. The following morning a 8.00am, I received a phone call saying that the battery needed replacing and requesting my permission to proceed with the battery replacement. I agreed to this, and then 30 minutes later I received an e-mail informing me that the work had been completed, and to make payment on-line, which I did. On the same e-mail it advised me not to collect the car until I received a call from Lexus telling me that the vehicle was ready for collection, but given that the work had been done and paid for, I expected a call within a few hours. However, I then heard nothing, and I waited until lunchtime, when I rang the Service department and also Main reception, but there was no answer and the phone just rang out. I then tried calling again several times over the next hour, but again no answer. I eventually got through through to main reception at 1pm, where a Sales representative answered the phone. They passed the call through to service who advised me that the car was ready. This was very frustrating as I had paid in full at 8.30am, following which I could NOT collect the car for several hours, which then affected my afternoon plans. It was disappointing having to chase and chase, phone call after phone call, trying to ascertain whether I could collect my call. All it required was a simple battery swap, being a 10 minute job, then resulted in me not having the car for 2 days.

My experience was excellent as always. The problem with my car was immediately diagnosed. The 12V battery was replaced the same day.
