The New Jaguar Type 01

Jaguar has never been content to follow, and the Type 01 proves it. This four-door electric GT is the first chapter of a bolder Jaguar, one shaped by daring modernist styling, responsive handling and technology built for tomorrow’s luxury driver.

Conceived from scratch under the old Jaguar mantra of Copy Nothing, it leaves the familiar behind. Every Type 01 is designed, engineered and assembled in Britain, riding on a bespoke all-electric platform.

The name carries meaning too. “Type” salutes legends such as the E-Type and F-Type, while 01 signals a zero-emissions powertrain and a fresh start for the marque.

The Jaguar Type 01 is a statement from every angle. A low roofline, long bonnet, short front overhang and 23-inch wheels give it a presence you simply won’t mistake for anything else. Step inside and a central spine runs the length of the cabin, creating a distinct space for every occupant, with brass-effect anodised aluminium finishers that emphasise the car’s sense of scale.

Choose gloss or satin exterior finishes to highlight its sculpted surfaces, then finish the look with the Fender Ingot and its beautifully crafted leaper.

Jaguar has filed more than 360 patent applications for the Type 01, making it Jaguar's most technically advanced Vehicle ever. Ahead of the driver sits a single-glass 24-inch OLED display, delivering exceptional clarity and the intuitive new Jaguar Infotainment. A seven-inch smartphone-style touchscreen places your most-used controls within easy reach.

The Jaguar Immersive Sound System, with Sensory Audio seats and an automotive-first Panoramic Soundbar, surrounds you in sound. Its foundations are unique to Jaguar, built on the dedicated Jaguar Electric Architecture.

The Type 01 is the most powerful Jaguar road car ever, with up to 1,030PS and 1,365Nm of torque. Tri-motor technology and Intelligent Torque Vectoring send that power exactly where it’s needed, taking you from 0-62 mph in 3.2 seconds. Overtaking is just as dramatic, with 62- 112 mph arriving in only 4.0 seconds. Yet this is more than straight-line speed.

With 50:50 weight distribution and two distinct driving characters, it blends refined comfort with true Jaguar poise. Active Vanes and a three-stage deployable spoiler also help deliver a drag coefficient of 0.23.

A 118kWh usable battery and 850-volt architecture are designed to keep the Type 01 moving. Jaguar anticipates an EPA range of up to 400 miles (up to 450 miles WLTP), with up to 320 miles at a sustained highway speed. Using 350kW rapid DC charging, you can add up to 200 miles of range in as little as 13 minutes.

Jaguar’s analysis suggests the Type 01 can complete up to 99.7 per cent of journeys without interruption, so a first electric car needn’t mean compromise.
