Group 1 Land Rover Watford

Just check the other reviews – 5 stars when they’re selling you a car, 1 star when you need aftercare. My recent experience with Group 1 Watford has been extremely disappointing and, sadly, reflects many of the concerns raised by other reviewers. I had to chase multiple times for updates, with several calls required before I received the information I needed. A diagnostic scan was carried out, yet no formal report was provided explaining the findings. When discussing the service work, the dealership had no record of the quoted price and I had to produce the original email myself to prove what had been agreed. They also replaced all four tyres with a different tyre model without any consultation or discussion beforehand. The vehicle was fitted with Pirelli Scorpions and was returned with Pirelli P Zeros. Whilst I understand the tyres are JLR-approved, the P Zeros are a more road-focused tyre and offer reduced capability in winter, snow and off-road conditions, which are important considerations for me. At the very least, I would have expected a conversation before such a change was made. To make matters worse, when collecting the vehicle I witnessed staff openly bickering amongst themselves in front of customers, which did little to inspire confidence in the professionalism of the dealership. Unfortunately, this wasn’t an isolated incident. My wife’s vehicle was recently serviced here as well. We were quoted around two hours while we waited, but the actual wait exceeded five hours with little communication or proactive updates throughout the day. The vehicles themselves have been fine, but the customer service, communication and organisation have been well below what I would expect from a premium brand. Experiences like this don’t just reflect badly on the dealership – they drag down the Land Rover brand as a whole. I raised these concerns directly with the dealership and gave them the opportunity to respond before posting this review. Unfortunately, I received no reply. - - edit 29th Sept 2026 - although Group 1 responded to my review on here asking me to contact them via email I’ve emailed that address twice with no response to date - pure lip service - just wanted to make it crystal clear to anyone reading this that they do not care.

Unprofessional and Useless … Calling 3 days in a row for a quote and I was being transferred from Department to Department … Incompetence of the Reception Staff and following the orders Departments !
