Group 1 Volkswagen Peterborough

After a few months of owning this vw tiguan bought new from there stock, i find this car a comfortable ride and easy to drive. The down side of buying this vechile was i needed a towbar fitted as I tow a caravan. Peterborough at the time didn't offer a towbar fitting service as aftermarket ( they send them to 3rd party company) . I sent hannah an email from a renowned towbar company with an issue if a 3rd party towbar is fitted. This was never responded to ( i would of gone down the route of factory built if I'd had known). The problem is that the towing electrics can't be coded to the vechile so all the electrics do is lights. All towing moduals can't be turn on. The only way is to have a vw modual fitted and coded but vw won't sort this problem out ( expect to have the towbar removed at my cost then they will do this work at a cost( £1300) factory fit is £1100) all this would have been avoided if hannah had read and responded to that email( saying I was off that day). Asked vw care about this and was told a reputable company can fit towbars. Ask sales person and said the same. Rang the company where Peterborough vw send them to to be told we can't code towbars from vw . If you are using the vechile to tow be aware that if a 3rd party towbar is fitted it cant be coded to the vechile ( lights will work to make it legal but nothing else ) it has to be a vw towbar As an apology I was told to have a meal on vw. I didnt take this up. I feel I've been lied to on this matter especially i sent them an email explaining the issue. The car tows really well though but issues when reversing and have to manually turn off rear sensors and breaking ( car thinks it's going to crash into something) I wouldn't trust what hannah ( can't read emails) has to say do your own research

My experience buying a car at vw group 1 in Peterborough has been great! I viewed some cars online and enquired about them and then Has Ahmed was in contact with me that day. I then went to just have a look at the cars that day but ended up buying! Has was great throughout the process.He was completely understanding of any concerns I had and was patient throughout the sale whilst not being pushy. I felt comfortable and he made sure I was happy throughout. Arfan star also helped to complete the sale today. He was also very patient throughout and helped me with any concerns. Parts department is absolutely useless, they never pick up the phone and when you come into store they are never available.

Multiple visits for the same faults, which weren't resolved. And you knew that they weren't resolved, so why are you asking me to contact the same company that didn't resolve them? What would change?

I have been coming here for 16 years and I have had 4 cars from them in total. I have had nothing but exceptional service every time. I am listened to, the team are friendly, non pushy (that puts me right off!) and I feel looked after. I have never had any problems with my cars and I have loved every car that I have had. The cars + the service and level of care I have received over the years is why I keep coming back. On this occasion, Arfan Star was my salesman. He listened to what I wanted, found the perfect car for me and a week later, the car is mine! The Tiguan Elegance is beautiful. It is quite different to what I am used to, but he took the time to explain all the features and how to drive an automatic (a few times because I am not the best learner - thank you!) He arranged a nice long test drive so I could really test the car and see if it was for me. Everything was really easy and I feel I got a great deal. Thank you Arfan and team - I couldn’t recommend you more.
