Our 1st trip was easy we picked out the car we wanted, it was at the dealership, sat it in loved it. Told we could have it ready for the Monday but we wanted a tow bar added so said we could pick it up the following Friday. Come Thursday I hadn’t heard anything so rang as need to sort insurance and the finance documents. I got a call back saying the car hadn’t arrived and wouldn’t be ready for a week, however we had sat in the car so knew it was already at the garage. Turns out they had ordered a totally different car for us. Not the one we had sat in and wanted. None of this has been communicated to us, if I hadn’t called on the Thursday we wouldn’t have been told any of this and I would have just turned up the Friday to collect the car. As the tow bar hadn’t been put on the car we wanted we had to wait till the Monday to pick up the car. We filled in all the finance stuff, which turned out had been set up for the wrong car so had to fill it in again. Pick up day arrived and agreed pick up was pushed back from 10am to 12:30. I didn’t leave the garage till gone 13:30. Putting a black cover and bow on the car did not impress me. Not a smooth process and terrible communication.

From start to finish, my after sales experience has been extremely poor. I’ve had to repeatedly chase by email with little to no meaningful response, and almost three months later, the issues with my vehicle are still unresolved. The lack of communication, ownership, and urgency has been incredibly disappointing. False promises after false promises. I would not recommend the Chester Jaguar Land Rover branch to anyone based on the service I have received. UPDATE 05/02/2026 - paid for ceramic coating (£500) before i picked up my brand new vehicle, several emails to and from JLR Chester who are adamant it was carried out - second opinion from RR Knutsford, who confirmed that my car had never been ceramic coating. Have now raised a complaint with my finance company. AVOID JLR CHESTER AT ALL COST!!!!

I recently purchase a Range Rover Evoque from Grant at the Chester site. We did not go in with the intention to purchase, but the car and the excellent service were the turning point to our purchase. Grant informed us of the various elements of buying a car and provided us with enough time to make our minds up. There was no hard sell tactics and the information on the extra benefits offered was a big help in deciding on them. All in all a good experience.

Took my 2016 discovery sport in for its 120 month service. A few days earlier the engine management light came on ,I asked them to investigate this during the service. After the service had been carried out at a cost of £1450 I was informed that the light was still on and that I would need to bring take it back in for investigation. The light showing would be an automatic MOT FAILURE, so why was the car allowed to be returned with it on? I then purchased a suitable OBD2 scanner and ran the test myself. This took me about 10 minutes and revealed that there is a fault on one of the lambda sensors. These have an expected lifespan of between 7&10 years. Surely having asked for an investigation into the problem it should have been done furthermore why is it not part of the 10 year service. When I arrived to collect my vehicle I was told that it was in the wash bay being valeted. This was untrue as it was returned in the same condition cleanliness wise as when it was dropped off. Having travelled 57 miles from home to the dealer that morning it was in need of a wash. I will not be returning to Chester Land Rover in the future. If I had read other comments online about them I wouldn’t have gone there at all. The reception staff are nice and polite but the service received is awful.
