Excellent sales experience working with Group 1 VW Norwich. I started my search on a Monday, found the vehicle I wanted, and Jack Parker at Group 1 made it all happen. He sent me a personalised video, then offered the right price and streamlined a process so I could pick up the vehicle on the following Saturday. Jack even picked me and the family up from the station! Every other dealer was a week behind! Well done Jack and Group 1!

Recently bought Golf R line from VW Norwich. I cannot thank Paul Hindmarsh enough, he’s gone above and beyond to make sure I got the car I loved. It seems they are only interested in sell you a car on finance and every car they show you on the group 1 website for some reason doesn’t meet the “standard they can sell from the Norwich garage” (unless you take out finance on a car beyond the budget you originally give ;) ). I was disappointed with my recent visit to VW Group 1 in Norwich. I initially visited to look for a used car and was met by a member of staff who said he was able to help with what I was looking for which was fine. I explained my budget and that I was only intending to buy outright and not on a finance deal, at this point there were no issues and he said there were plenty of options including cars at other group 1 stores. After test driving a similar car we went back and looked at getting a car from one of the other groups. After consulting his boss he said the car I had chosen (from the stock that he showed me) was not up to group 1 standard for the Norwich garage despite being on their site, I was a little disappointed but continued and found another car (more expensive) at this point the member of staff said that the car I had found would be ok to bring in. Following this he went away and spoke to who I assume was a manager and then I was told that car also did not meet their standard (a little strange). He then went away again and came down with a finance proposal for a different car even though I had expressed that I was not interested in any finance, i then relayed again that finance wasn’t something I wanted to do. At this point the member of staff went back to his manger and then came down again and said that there was nothing they could do despite there being numerous cars on the wider group 1 website that fell within my budget, it essentially felt like that if I wasn’t buying through finance that they were not interested in sell me a car. Ultimately I came away feeling a little disappointed and misled having spent a couple hours being told they would be able to accommodate what I wanted (to buy outright) to then be pushed finance on more expensive cars even though I had expressed that was something I didn’t what to do given I had a sizeable cash budget originally. In conclusion I bought a car from a different dealer, who was much more helpful!
