1 Star – Extremely Disappointing Experience I purchased a 2019 Volkswagen Touareg 3.0 TDI from Group 1 Volkswagen Lowestoft on 6 May 2026 for £23,439 cash. Unfortunately, the problems started almost immediately. 7 May – Day 2 of ownership: I reported an oil-related issue. 8 May: I reported significant noise coming from the front driver's side of the vehicle. I provided photographs and videos of the issue. 11–14 May: The vehicle was taken to Group 1 Volkswagen Romford for investigation and repairs, but they didn't sort out any problems 18 May 2026: Reported a severe oil leak ( inside the exaust was full of oil ) The car was returned to VW Romford garage on the same day using road assistance services. 18 May–17 July: (60 days) The vehicle was then kept at the Group 1 Volkswagen Romford workshop for approximately 60 consecutive days for further repairs. 17 July: The vehicle was finally returned to me. 26 July: Just 9 days after the vehicle was returned, the Engine Management Light came on again. Because I was concerned about the vehicle's condition, I paid for an independent diagnostic inspection on 27 July 2026. The independent garage's report recorded multiple fault codes, including: C11EC04 – Brake Booster Pressure Sensor, Faulty P226D00 – Particulate Filter Deteriorated/Missing Substrate P200000 – NOx Adsorber Efficiency Bank 1 Below Threshold P20EE00 – SCR NOx Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold U041500 – Invalid Data Received From Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) B11AF07 – Fresh Air Door Motor, Mechanical Malfunction Additional communication/data-bus faults. I subsequently exercised my rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and sent a formal Letter Before Action requesting a full refund of the £23,439 purchase price. Instead, I was offered £20,000 to buy the vehicle back, leaving a £3,439 difference from what I originally paid, or asking me to give them a chance to repair the vehicle After more than 30 days of trying to resolve the matter, and with the situation leaving me without a car, I ultimately had to accept the £20,000 buyback because I didn't believe that the car it will be properly sorted. What is particularly disappointing is that the vehicle developed problems almost immediately after purchase, spent approximately two months in the dealership's workshop, was returned to me, and then the Engine Management Light came back on only nine days later. An independent diagnostic inspection the following day recorded multiple further faults. I am extremely disappointed with both the vehicle and the way this matter was handled. Spending £23,439 with a Volkswagen dealership, only to go through months of problems and ultimately lose £3,439, has been an extremely frustrating experience. I am posting this review based on my personal experience and the documentation I have to support it.

I went into the showroom on Sunday 2nd August I believe it was as I had come by the day before to look at the forecourt, so decided to come back the next day to see if I could get a test drive, I spoke to a largish man sat down [ I just put that in as a way to identify him without using names ] on the desks on the left. He was on his mobile phone, not sure what he was doing but didn't look busy, I approached him late in the afternoon around 330pm and asked to test drive an ID4. The man asked if I wanted to buy or lease. I said lease and he said he couldn't do a test drive because "If I do a 30 minute test drive with you then I cant sell a car to someone else" There was no other customers in the show room that I could see. In the end I went to another VW dealership in another town and bought one from them so I guess VW got their money but seemed very rude.

Golf R.The only reason I’ve used them twice is because my car has a full main-dealer service history, low mileage, and is on a service plan.First-year service: I’d paid for a rental car, but when I turned up, apparently they had no car available for me, even though I’d paid the rental fee. There were also loads of cars for sale on the forecourt, so surely they could have lent me something. I ended up having to take my R home and reschedule the DSG and Haldex service.Second service was just an oil change. I asked them to stamp my new service book. They made a mistake and put the year before the major service with the DSG and Haldex down as just an oil service. They offered to fix it with Tippex 😂

Always a good experience when having the car serviced, and prices are as you'd expect. Some very nice cars on the forecourt too. Temptation may be an issue ..
