Absolutely horrible experience with Group 1 Mercedes Cambridge. Read below. I took my car to Mercedes Cambridge for a diagnostic because it was making an unusual noise. They kept the car for the whole day and eventually called me to say the issue was actually very minor apparently there was a build-up of grease around the springs, which they had cleaned/removed, and the problem was now fixed. I was genuinely happy and even told them, “You guys have saved me loads of money.” Unfortunately, just 1–2 days later, the exact same noise came back. Being disappointed in there service and I don’t live in Cambridge, I took the car to Mercedes-Benz Bury St Edmunds, which is closer to me. They diagnosed the car and actually identified the problem and provided me with a quote for the repair. Naturally, I was disappointed, so I contacted Mercedes Cambridge and explained what had happened. I spoke to the manager, expecting them to at least acknowledge that their technician had apparently failed to identify the actual problem. Instead, I was basically told they couldn’t do anything because I had taken the car to a different Mercedes dealership. That makes absolutely no sense to me. Another Mercedes dealership was able to identify the problem, yet Cambridge had my car for an entire day, charged me the full diagnostic fee, told me the problem had been fixed — and the exact same noise returned within 1–2 days. Either the original diagnosis was incorrect or the underlying cause of the noise wasn’t properly investigated. Either way, I paid for a diagnosis, lost the use of my car for the day, and ended up having to take it somewhere else to get the actual problem identified. What disappointed me most was the way my complaint was handled afterwards. I would have expected much better customer service from a Mercedes-Benz dealership. Just something to be aware of if you’re thinking of taking your car to Mercedes-Benz Cambridge. This was my experience.

Couldn’t be asked to speak to a customer. Very long wait times just to drop off car for annual service (30 minutes+). Had to make a fuss to get attention after being told that they were busy.

Dear Mr Turner-Neal, Thank you for your response. Having reviewed the video evidence you have now acknowledged in writing that the wiper fault is real and clearly visible. I find it remarkable that it has taken a public Google review to reach this conclusion. This video was submitted to your dealership on 20 May 2026 and to Mercedes-Benz Financial Services on 1 June 2026. Your previous explanation attributed this fault to " Just grit and grime from the transportation" — yet the identical fault appeared on my first vehicle, suggesting neither car was ever properly inspected & prepared before handover. Mercedes-Benz Financial Services declined my complaint on the basis that faults could not be verified — despite holding this video evidence for over two months. Your written acknowledgement today directly contradicts that decision. Regarding your offer to inspect and replace the wiper blades — I am unable to accept this. My formal rejection of this vehicle under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 remains in place and I am not in a position to accept any repair as doing so could affect that claim. I would also note that attending the dealership for any appointment is not straightforward as I have no annual leave remaining, a direct consequence of the time I have already had to take dealing with the variety of issues experienced across both brand new vehicles. Kind regards, Paul Rowan Please note I have added the video demonstrating the failure with the seat and a photo of the active break assist experienced. ************ Initial post ************ I have been a Mercedes-Benz customer since January 2026, purchasing two consecutive brand new A Class vehicles from Mercedes-Benz Cambridge. Unfortunately my experience has been one of the most stressful and disappointing I have ever had as a consumer. My first vehicle broke down twice due to a transmission fault, leaving me stranded on both occasions for several hours as a single parent. The repair process took approximately one month, during which I was falsely notified twice by email that my car was ready for collection. On both occasions I left work early and arranged alternative childcare, only to receive a call whilst on my way to the dealership advising the car was not in fact ready. My replacement vehicle presented the same transmission fault within four days of collection, along with five further faults including an Active Brake Assist safety system warning whilst driving at night on country roads with my daughter in the car. A windscreen wiper fault that had never been resolved on my first vehicle also reappeared on the second. I formally rejected the replacement vehicle under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 within the 30-day window. Despite providing full written accounts, timestamped video and photographic evidence, and engaging constructively throughout, Mercedes-Benz Financial Services declined my rejection on the basis that the faults could not be replicated — misapplying the law entirely. When I collected the rejected vehicle, the dealership took a considerable amount of time to locate the keys and had misplaced my log book. Upon advising they had found it, I was asked to come in and collect it. My requests for it to be posted to me have been ignored. I have referred this matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service and written directly to the CEO of Mercedes-Benz UK. I would not recommend this dealership or this product. Since leaving this review yesterday 30/8/26, my car has once again reported a Teaching in Transmission Error, the very same issue that caused my last car to breakdown twice and leave me stranded with my daughter for 6 and 5 hours respectively. With both the dealership and Mercedes Benz Financial Services stating there is nothing wrong with my car, I have since reported this to the financial ombusdman.
