I purchased a Mercedes‑AMG CLA45s Street Style Edition from Mercedes‑Benz Oxford on 6 February 2026 for around £57,000, and the experience has been extremely disappointing. Despite repeated assurances from the sales representative, Josh Stares, the dealership failed to complete the V5C ownership transfer. After weeks of being ignored, calls being placed on hold and disconnected, and multiple emails going unanswered, I contacted DVLA UK, who confirmed in writing that Mercedes Oxford had not submitted the transfer at all. I have attached the ignored email chain and a screenshot of the DVLA confirmation as evidence. Because the dealership did not carry out this basic legal requirement, I was forced to complete a V62 form myself and wait months for a new V5C to be issued. For a main dealer, this level of administrative negligence is unacceptable. A customer should not have to chase legally required paperwork for months after purchasing a vehicle of this value. I will now be escalating this matter to Mercedes‑Benz UK Head Office in Milton Keynes for formal review. Based on this experience, I would strongly advise customers to avoid Group 1 Mercedes franchises. In contrast, Vertu Mercedes consistently provides far better after‑sales support and handles basic legal ownership transfers properly — which is the bare minimum expected from a dealership of this size.

Poor interaction with customers - quite clear that service is not a priority at Mercedes-Benz of Oxford.

I requested a test drive via an online Smart ad, asking for a date and time over a week ahead. No response by the day before, so I phoned. Whilst I'm prepared to believe, as I was told, the issue was with Smart UK failing to pass these requests on, Smart of Oxford cannot blame them for the fact that about a month later, no one has called back to offer me a test drive. Smart is no longer on my shortlist.

This dealership has really gone down hill. Have used Mercedes at Kidlington for a number of years. Took my car in for service and MOT and they forgot to MOT it, I was driving around in it for 5 months (even having gone out of the area, Lincolnshire and Cardiff) before I realised I had no MOT. When I brought it to their attention, they admitted it was their fault and to bring it in to be rectified. All the staff from reception through sales and service department are less than accommodating. I didn’t even get an apology for their error. I tried to speak to a sales person about exchanging my current Mercedes for a new model, but was totally ignored in the showroom. I’d definitely recommend not using this dealership, they certainly lost a sale here.

I had a generally positive experience with the dealership overall. However, I would advise caution when dealing with one of the sales associates, Zoe. During my experience, I felt that some of the information provided to me was not entirely accurate, and certain details about the car did not match what I was initially told. I also found the communication at times to be unprofessional, which made the process less comfortable than it should have been. I would recommend double-checking any information given and ensuring everything is clearly confirmed before making a purchase.
