Group 1 Automotive Named 'Retailer of the Year' at Auto Trader Retailer Awards

We're proud to announce that Group 1 Automotive has been crowned 'Retailer of the Year' at the 17th instalment of the Auto Trader Retailer Awards 2024 – the highest accolade of the night. 

The Auto Trader Retailer Awards, now in their 17th year, are regarded as a benchmark for excellence in automotive retailing, recognising industry leaders in customer experience, innovation, and sustainability. As part of the subcategory, ‘retailer stocking more than 100 vehicles’, we were crowned with the top honour of 'Retailer of the Year' for demonstrating the best practices in retail and consistently delivering a top-quality customer experience in every aspect of our business, from the buying journey and online adverts to communication with our customers.

Celebrating the best of the best in the industry, we faced tough competition from an initial pool of over 13,500 UK automotive retailers, which was narrowed to just 1,500 of Auto Trader’s top-performing partners before 30 winners were selected across various categories. Each was judged on an in-depth analysis of millions of data points, an expert panel of judges, and results from the UK's largest consumer mystery shopping programme involving automotive retailers. 

"We appreciate the amount of analysis that goes into these awards and thank the judging panel for recognising our continued efforts to push the bar within the industry," Raban said. 

Winning the title of 'Retailer of the Year' places us in the top 1% of Auto Trader's retail partners. Raban attributed this "outstanding achievement" to the exceptional efforts of all the Group 1 Automotive teams who contributed to our success.
