These Terms and Conditions apply to the use of this website at www.group1auto.co.uk and set out the agreement and relationship between Group 1 Automotive (referred to hereafter as ‘us’ ‘our’ or ‘we’) and the user, (hereafter referred to as ‘you’ or ‘your’).

By accessing this website and/or making an online payment, you imply you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use this website.

2.1 You warrant that all details you provide to Group 1 Automotive UK Ltd for the purpose of making an online payment are true, accurate, current and complete in all respects; and that the credit or debit card you are using is your own and that there are sufficient funds in your account to cover payment of the product(s) ordered.

2.2 You agree that e-mail can be used as a means of communication.

2.3 It is a crime to use a false name or a known invalid credit card to make an online payment. Anyone caught wilfully entering an erroneous or fictitious order will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Group 1 Automotive UK Ltd tracks every payment made on group1auto.co.uk to enable us, and all legitimate crime prevention and prosecution authorities, to trace individual users engaging in criminal activities on our website.

2.4 You are deemed to make a payment with us by paying via our online payment process. As part of our payment process you will be given the opportunity to view your invoice and check for any errors. We will send you a payment acknowledgement, detailing the payment you have made. You must check all the details on this confirmation email are correct and contact us as soon as possible if any details are incorrect.

2.5 Our acceptance of a payment takes place when we email confirmation of the payment. We will send you a payment confirmation by email.

2.6 We may refuse to accept a payment:
(a) where we cannot obtain authorisation for your payment;
(b) if there has been a pricing or description error; or
(c) if you do not meet any eligibility criteria set out in our terms and conditions.

2.7 Group 1 Automotive accept most major credit/debit cards. All credit and debit cardholders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. If the issuer of your payment card refuses to authorise payment to us, we will not be liable for any delay.

RESPONDING TO COMPLAINTS.

You will receive an acknowledgement from us that your complaint has been received. In acknowledging receipt of your complaint, we will give an indication of how long it will take to send you a detailed response and which member of staff is progressing your complaint.

In most cases, we would aim to provide a full reply within four weeks. However, this may not always be possible, especially if we need to obtain further information. If it proves impossible to send a detailed answer to your complaint within the time originally indicated we will contact you again explaining the reason why and to tell you when you will receive a full response.

RESOLVING COMPLAINTS.

All complaints will be managed to conclusion by the manager responsible for the area to which your complaint relates, who will ensure there is a detailed investigation into your complaint. All complaint information will be handled responsibly and confidentially. This policy is reviewed regularly and updated as required.

Group 1 Automotive are subscribed to The Motor Ombudsman for New/Used Cars and Service & Repair. The Chartered Trading Standards Institute and The Motor Ombudsman (a self-regulatory body for the automotive sector) are partners, providing Government-backed codes of practice for garages.

As a consumer, if a non-financial services related dispute arises that cannot be resolved between us within a reasonable timescale, there is an alternative platform to pursuing through court. The Motor Ombudsman is an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider which will provide you with free impartial advice and Group 1 Automotive Ltd are fully committed to any correspondence with them. Group 1 Automotive UK Limited act as a credit broker and not a lender. We can introduce you to a number of lenders and their finance products. We do not charge a fee for our services. The lender we introduce you to will typically pay Group 1 Automotive UK Limited a commission. We will provide details of this commission upon request. Our lending partners include ALD Automotive, Alphera, Black Horse, Evolution Funding, Ford Credit Europe, KIA Financial Services, Mercedes Benz Financial Services, Motonovo, Northridge, Santander, Stellantis Financial Services, Toyota Finance, Volkswagen Financial Services

16.1 You may not assign, sub-license or otherwise transfer any of your rights under these terms and conditions

16.2 If any provision of these terms and conditions is found by any court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the invalidity of that provision will not affect the validity of the remaining provisions which shall continue to have full force and effect.

16.3 Only the parties to these terms and conditions may seek to enforce them under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
